Christian Eriksen set to leave Manchester United in the summer

Danish stalwart, Christian Eriksen is set to depart the Premier League once more this summer – with the former Tottenham playmaker set to leave Manchester United come the end of the season.

Eriksen, who has struggled for minutes this season under both Erik ten Hag, and Ruben Amorim, is set to depart Old Trafford this summer according to reports, with the Dane’s contract with the club expiring.

And himself confirming his expected exit from United, Christian Eriksen admitted he was preparing for a future away from the club. “In my head, I’m prepared to find something new,” Erisken told TV2

“What that will be is not something I’ve decided yet. I haven’t heard anything, and when I don’t, I assume that the collaboration stops. “That’s how I interpret it. Everyone knows that the contract expires, so I figure there’s only one way [it will go].

And just fresh from his 33rd. birthday, a host of clubs are expected to be in the market for Christian Eriksen this summer. And with a host of new betting sites poised to get in on the action for the Danish midfielder, the likes of Ajax and past club, Odense are sure to be worth keeping an eye on.

Himself expecting to leave United this summer, according to Italian reporter, Fabrizio Romano, Eriksen’s future is already made up as far as the club’s hierarchy are concerned.

No doubts or change of plans for Christian Eriksen’s future: he’s gonna leave Man United as (sic) free agent in July, Romano posted on X.

Most recently appearing for United last weekend before the international break, Eriksen played against Leicester City in a dominant 0-3 win away from home.

And going close to scoring just his eighth goal for the club, Eriksen whipped a ball in from the left hand side following a corner routine, seeing his effort cannon off the crossbar.

Approaching his one-hundredth total game for The Red Devils since his move to the club back in 2022, Eriksen featured prominently during his first season with United.

Featuring in all competitions on 44 separate occasions, former Brentford midfielder, Eriksen often patterned the likes of Casemiro and captain, Bruno Fernandes as part of a midfield two for United.

Likely best remembered for his exploits while playing for the above-mentioned Tottenham and Ajax in Holland, Christian Eriksen also spent two campaigns in the Serie A — winning a Scudetto to boot.

Departing London to move to Milan, Eriksen played for Inter back in 2019 — laying on eight goals fo for the Italian giants in just two seasons as part of a bit-part squad rotation option.

However, joining Brentford, Erisken was not permitted to play in Serie A after infamously suffering a cardiac arrest during a match at EURO 2020. Fitted with an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator, Eriksen’s contract with Inter was terminated before the turn of 2022.

Proving a massive success with the newly-promoted Brentford, in an interesting stat, from the time of his first appearance, only both Kevin de Bruyne, and fellow Dane, Martin Odegaard had created more chances in the Premier League that campaign.
