Man United linked with Harry Kane as Ruben Amorim eyes ‘Top forward’ in summer market
Man United have once more been linked with a swoop for England captain, Harry Kane — this time in a cut-price transfer move from Bayern Munich after missing out on the striker last two summers ago.
United parted ways with both Marcus Rashford and Brazilian winger, Antony in loan moves to Aston Villa and Real Betis, respectively during the January transfer window, failed to replace either in a quiet period of activity for the cash-strapped side.

However, a host of soccer betting sites are offering odds once more on a summer move for former Tottenham Hotspur goalscorer, Harry Kane to finally make good on a high-profile move to Old Trafford as soon as this summer.
Linked initially with a move for Harry Kane before signing Danish youngster, Rasmus Hojlund two summers ago, United ultimately moved for the Atalanta striker, with the former swapping Spurs for the Bundesliga in a move to Bayern — where he has enjoyed a terrific scoring run since his move.
Always linked with a return to English football in order to break the all-time league goalscoring record of former Southampton, Blackburn Rovers, and Newcastle United striker, Alan Shearer, Harry Kane has long been mooted as a marksman at Old Trafford in recent years.
Idenfiying a host of potential late-window moves for the likes of French duo, Mathys Tel, and Christopher Nkunku, United opted against signing either in any capacity — deciding against a potential £5,000,000 loan fee for the former from Bayern, without any option or mandatory buy clause to boot.
Eventually making a loan switch to the above-mentioned, Spurs, Tel — who is considered an unfinished product — although with a massive potential and ceiling in top-flight football, does not fit the bill as Amorim eyes a “top forward”.
Another potential signing which appears to fit that bill is Swedish striker, Viktor Gyokeres who has prevailed in the Portuguese league at on Europe’s biggest stage — and previously found the net time and time again under the tutelage of Amorim at Sporting Lisbon.
Expected to return to his former side in the summer for a mooted move for Portuguese wingback, Geovany Quenda — who is regarded as another top star in the coming years, Amorim is a long-time admirer of former Brighton & Hove Albion prospect, Gyokeres.
Extremely light in outright attacking options until the remainder of the season, United must either field the above-mentioned, Hojlund, or Dutch nine-and-a-half, Joshua Zirkzee — with both failing to score on cue for the side this campaign.
Expected to refrain from risking an introduction of academy starlet, Chido Obi Martin in the coming months — given their faltering form in a season to forget, United also offloaded Jadon Sancho on loan during the summer window, while veteran French striker, Anthony Martial departed for Greek side, AEK Athens.
Another star linked with a move to Old Trafford is Nigerian international, Victor Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Italian Serie A side, Napoli — who had a vested interest in United’s winger, Alejandro Garnacho before the closure of the January transfer window.
