The Top Three Players for the 2026 World Cup Golden Boot
The 2026 World Cup is fast approaching with team’s beginning to put together their squads for this summer’s tournament. Argentina head in as holders but will face competition as their squad has aged, with the likes of England, Spain and France all hunting glory.
The World Cup is world’s best footballing showcase, with everything from goals to tricks and football betting on display. The games come thick and fast with everyone looking for the one big prize.
With several team’s hunting the golden prize they will need to score goals in the tournament. With Kylian Mbappe netting to the most goals in 2022, who is the favourite to score the most this summer?
Lionel Messi – 12/1

The World Cup winning captain is set to lead his team to the tournament this year, playing in the nation he now plays his club game. The Inter Miami forward was a talisman in Qatar and has already stated this will likely be his last international tournament.
One of the world’s greatest footballers will not want to go out anything less than on top. The odds would seem to agree with Messi third favourite for top scorer, even at 38.
You’d be a fool to rule Messi out at any stage, and he will be hoping for one more glory day in his glittering career.
Harry Kane – 7/1

The England captain is arguably Europe’s best striker, having already netted 48 goals for Bayern Munich in 43 games this season. At 32, Kane has not stopped scoring and is the nation’s all-time top scorer.
England have got so close to winning a major tournament in Kane’s tenure as captain and with Thomas Tuchel now in charge, now is the time for them to take the next step.
For the Three Lions to do so, Kane’s goals will be imperative. An in-form Harry Kane could simply be the reason England actually win a trophy, if not, it could be a long summer.
Kylian Mbappe – 6/1

The Real Madrid forward won the golden boot in Qatar in 2022, but his goals could not see his France team past Argentina. Kylian Mbappe will not want to let that happen again and will only be happy if he can guide his nation back to the glory, they last won in 2018.
Mbappe may not have found his best form at Madrid yet, but his France form is imperious, something he will expect to take into this summer’s tournament.
France are one of this year’s favourites, and rightly so, but will only go so far if Mbappe is as good as everyone knows he can be.
