7. Billy Liddell

Billy Liddell spent the whole 23 years of his senior career at Anfield making 492 appearances and scoring an impressive 215 goals. The stocky yet slick winger was a superb dribbler for the time and had an astute eye for goal.

During his two decades with the club, Liddell helped them secure the 1946/47 First Division
title, scoring eight times in only his second season with the club. He is revered to this day as
one of Liverpool’s greatest ever post-war legends.

6. Mohammed Salah

Egyptian magician Mohammed Salah arrived at Liverpool in 2017, excelling as a left-sided forward with fantastic athleticism and technique. Salah’s presence cannot be overstated as he arguably developed into the best attacking wide man in the Premier League. He was pivotal as part of the Reds team that won a Premier League title, FA Cup, League cup and Champions League in 2019.

Salah is famed for his mazy drives towards goal and accurate finishing. The Egyptian has made around 350 appearances at Anfield so far and is currently the club’s fifth highest ever goalscorer with 210 goals.

5. Jamie Carragher

Jamie Carragher was a powerhouse of a Captain and fiercely tenacious centre-back. The Englishman graduated from Liverpool’s academy in 1996 and soon became a fan’s favourite. He went on to make over 500 appearances for the Reds across a seventeen-year period at Anfield.

Carragher was crucial in Liverpool’s success as they won two FA Cups, three League Cups, a UEFA Cup and 2005 Champions League. He was donned Liverpool’s Player Of The Year twice and named in 2006’s PFA Team of the Season.

4. Roger Hunt

Roger Hunt featured for Liverpool across an eleven-year spell from 1958 to 1969. He appeared over 400 times for the Reds, scoring 262 goals and still remains the club’s second highest ever goalscorer.

He helped Liverpool win two English league titles and a brace of FA Cups. Hunt was named First Division top scorer at the end of the 1965/66 season with an impressive 29 goals. He was also inducted into Liverpool’s Hall of Fame and part of England’s 1966 World Cup winning side.

3. Ian Rush

Welsh soccer icon Ian Rush permanently etched his name into Liverpool’s history books soon after his arrival from Chester City in 1980. It wouldn’t take long for him to acclimatise to the demands of the First Division. During his first full season Rush scored 30 goals, guiding the Reds to a league and cup double. He won numerous honours whilst at Anfield including five league titles and two European Cups.

Rush was a clinical striker with a directness to his play and an accurate shot. He finished as Liverpool’s top scorer in seven separate seasons, named PFA Player of the Year and awarded the European Golden Boot in 1984.

2. Kenny Dalglish

Scottish soccer genius Kenny Dalglish quickly established himself in English soccer following a move from Celtic in 1977. He was always blessed with immense technical ability, speed and creativity. Across thirteen campaigns at Anfield, Dalglish’s performances season on season were sublime and in 510 appearances he scored 170 goals, still the club’s seventh highest ever goalscorer.

He won no less than six First Division League titles, an FA Cup, four League cups and three European Cups. Dalglish was named in the PFA Player of the Year on seven occasions and finished runner up in the 1983 Ballon d’Or.

1. Steven Gerrard

Undoubtedly amongst the greatest Liverpool players of all-time is Steven Gerrard. Graduating from their Academy in 1998, the Englishman became Captain in 2003 and guided the club through a memorable period in their history.

Gerrard made over 700 appearances for Liverpool, finding the net 185 times and sits in fourth spot on a list of their highest goalscorers of all-time. The inspirational Liverpool legend won eight major honours during his seventeen years at Anfield including two FA cups, three league cups along with a UEFA Cup and 2005’s European Cup. Gerrard was honoured with an induction into English Soccer’s Hall Of Fame in 2017!
