Bryan Mbeumo rejects move to Tottenham Hotspur, confirms plan to join Man United this summer
Failing so far to get a drawn-out deal for Cameroonian forward, Bryan Mbeumo over the line, Man United appear to have been given a boost in their pursuit of the Brentford star, who has rejected the chance to sign for Tottenham Hotspur, in favor of a move to Old Trafford.
Mbuemo, who scored 20 times in all competitions for the London club last season, laid on an impressive further eight assists for ‘The Bees’ in all competitions.
And linked heavily with United in the last month, Bryan Mbeumo was also linked with a massive move to Spurs, with former head coach, Thomas Frank becoming the new manager in North London earlier this month, too.
Man United huge favorites to sign Bryan Mbeumo
However, as per a report from The Athletic this week, Mbeumo — who is a massive favorite to join United, even on Plinko real money sites to this date– has made his intentions clear to link up with Ruben Amorim ahead of a rebuild at Old Trafford later this summer.
As per the report, Bryan Mbeumo informed then-coach Frank ahead of his mooted move to Spurs that he does not intend to follow suit — instead confirming his plans to join United, who have already splashed the cash this summer.
Earlier this month, Man United confirmed the signing of Wolves forward, Matheus Cunha, for a fee in the region of £62.5 million — to play on the left-hand side of a forward front two behind a striking outlet.
And furthermore, this month, United have already seen a pair of bids rejected for Bryan Mbeumo.
Most recently, a bid in the region of £55 million plus a further £7.5 million in potential performance-related add-ons was also rejected by Brentford over the course of this weekend.
Confident of securing an eventual deal to sign the former Troyes forward, personal terms on a deal to sign Mbuemo are not expected to serve as a stumbling block to any potential signing.
It must be noted, the arrival of Bryan Mbeumo — whilst sanctioned by the INEOS-backed United board, is set to come as the last transfer available to Amorim before a summer clear-out in the club in a bid to fund other potential targets.
Namely, a host of potential players in the United shop window include Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, Antony, Jadon Sancho, and potentially, goalkeeper Andre Onana.
Linked with a lucrative move to Premier League rivals, Chelsea, United are set to command a fee in the region of £75 million for Garnacho, who has severely fallen out of favor at Old Trafford under Portuguese head coach, Amorim.
In a bid to launch a culture shock at the club, United have also stressed this summer, according to sources, how they have a set price in mind for each of their targets, and will not be overpaying nor held to ransom by selling clubs.
Expected to launch a bid for an attacking outlet off the back of a deal to sign Bryan Mbeumo, United also discussed a potential deal to sign Argentine shot stopper, Emi Martinez, from Premier League rivals, Aston Villa.
To boot, a potential bid for a second-choice keeper has been mooted, too, with United reportedly also open to offers for Turkish goalkeeper, Altay Bayindir, who has failed to set the world on fire since his move from Fenerbache back in 2024.
