Ipswich vs Arsenal Betting Preview

The Premier League season is slowly but surely coming to an end and in truth, it’s been a pretty strange one. As we enter the final few weeks of fixtures, a lot has already been pretty much decided – including the title race and relegation battle. Ironically, both of those things involve the two teams we’re here to talk about today.

Ipswich Town have been treading water for months now after an initially strong start to the campaign. They’ve shown flashes of brilliance but in reality, they just aren’t strong enough to compete at the elite level, which is why they look pretty set to head straight back down to the Championship.

Ipswich

As for Arsenal, their one and only remaining focus is the Champions League. They’ve given up far too much ground to Liverpool in the title race and if they lose at Portman Road, they will leave the door wide open for the Reds to confirm their 20th league championship.

Alas, there’s still a game to be played and there’s still a glimmer of hope for both clubs, even if it’s incredibly unlikely that they’re going to meet their respective goals. The hope for this game is that we get an interesting, competitive affair between two sides that have fought valiantly, even if it hasn’t quite been enough up to this point.

Arsenal

So whether you’re placing a wager with Leon Bet or you’re just interested in how the match plays out, it’s time to take a closer look at this battle between the Tractor Boys and the Gunners.

For Ipswich, we’re getting close to “throw caution to the wind” territory. Everything they’ve tried up to this point hasn’t worked out and although their defensive concerns are going to be there no matter what, they need to start pressing teams in a way that exudes confidence. It’s easier said than done, but they’ve got a few players of real quality that can certainly cause Arsenal problems.

As for Arsenal, they’ll be the ones who are dictating the pace in this game, but they’ll also be coming off the back of their gigantic second leg tie against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu. We’re likely to see a few fringe players come into the starting XI here and hopefully, they’re able to make a positive impression.

That’s the ultimate ambition here, but before anything else, Arsenal will just want to delay the crowning of Arne Slot’s Liverpool side for as long as possible. We can’t picture them going out there and completely blowing Ipswich away, but they do need to start fast in order to avoid any banana skins in front of what is (hopefully) going to be a passionate Suffolk crowd.

We do think Ipswich will get on the scoresheet after Arsenal force their way into a two-goal lead but in the end, it isn’t going to be enough. The visitors will hold on to claim all three points as they try and put the pieces in place to find success in the league next season – barring any dramatic and completely insane twists in the title tale.

Official prediction: Ipswich 1-2 Arsenal
