Leicester vs Liverpool Betting Preview
We’re coming to the end of another Premier League season and it’s been a pretty strange one, to say the least. The title race is pretty much done and the same can be said for the relegation spots, and ironically, those two subjects involve both of the teams we’re here to talk about today.
Leicester City have been on a truly terrible run of form that has left them drowning without any real hope of survival. Ruud van Nistelrooy wasn’t quite the inspired appointment that many had hoped he would be, and the demise of the Foxes further illustrates the growing gap between established Premier League clubs and those pushing for promotion in the Championship.
As for Liverpool, all their focus and commitment is on getting this Premier League title secured. Arne Slot has had a really solid first season in charge of the Reds and yet, while they’re the best team in England right now, they’ve fallen short in a big way when it comes to the other three competitions they’ve been competing in.
It’ll be interesting to see how both teams approach this game given that they’ve both been somewhat limping over the finish line. Leicester just can’t seem to buy a win from anywhere, whereas Liverpool are benefitting from two things – their competitors falling apart, and the rest of the league not being able to cope with their star players.
So whether you’re interested in the MD betting apps or you’re just here to find out a bit more about the game, we’re here to dive deeper into this fixture.
It doesn’t really feel like there’s a route to victory here for Leicester other than trying to work in some physicality, being defensively sound, and trying to hit Liverpool on the counter. Unfortunately, they aren’t particularly good at all three of those things. The visitors, meanwhile, haven’t really had to get out of first gear much in recent months, and we doubt it’ll be any different here.
There’s a slim chance that they could be confirmed as champions on Sunday but even if they aren’t, they’ll move to within just one more win of getting their hand raised so long as they can beat Leicester. Given the expectations at the start of the season, we’d imagine that Slot would’ve taken that kind of scenario in mid-April.
Our prediction is simple: Liverpool win, but they don’t look remarkable, and Leicester manage to get on the scoresheet by some kind of fluke. That sounds a bit harsh but when you take one look at their pattern of play, it’s not hard to understand why so many people don’t fancy them to pick up many more points between now and the final day.
A lot of critics have already started turning their attention towards the summer, which is going to serve as an interesting time for Liverpool Football Club. For now, though, they can start to get excited about the inevitable trophy parade, as they look to pull a Drew McIntyre and win a proper title in front of fans.
Official prediction: Leicester 1-3 Liverpool
