Man United trump Leicester City in dominant win before Ruben Amorim arrival

Seeing out the interim managerial reign of Ruud van Nistelrooy at Old Trafford this afternoon, Man United did so with a certain style, running out one-sided 3-0 winners against Leicester City, helped by an impressive first half performance.

Fresh from an impressive 2-0 win at home to Greek champions, PAOK Salonika earlier this week which saw Ivorian winger, Amad Diallo score twice for the side, Man United took a first half lead today through captain, Bruno Fernandes, who combined with the former before steering an effort into the far corner from outside the area.

Minutes later, Man United moved 2-0 with Fernandes forcing an own-goal error from Victor Kristiansen after a splendid cross from Noussiar Mazraoui.

And putting an end to any revival hopes from Leicester City, substitute, Alejandro Garnacho bent a fiery effort over the keeper to score United’s third of the evening.

Man United big favorites for Ipswich Town return this month

Themselves running out as surprising 1-2 winners over Tottenham this evening, Ipswitch Town, who welcome Ruben Amorim to the Premier League later this month, are still some sizeable +350 betting underdogs, with fans of online football betting able to get United at massive betting favorite odds of -150.

Retaining an unbeaten run during his four-match interim tenure with United, former Dutch striking ace, van Nistelrooy added the above-mentioned PAOK to a pair of victories over Leicester in both Premier League and league cup action, to go with a competitive 1-1 draw against Chelsea.

And while Portuguese head coach, Amorim is now firmly waiting in the wings to take over in a permanent capacity at Old Trafford next week, with van Nistelrooy remaining coy on his aspirations to manage the side in the future, as his time at the club remains in constant question.

“I thought this through well when I made the decision to come to Manchester United as an assistant manager or assistant coach,” Ruud van Nistelrooy said in his media scrum ahead of today’s match. “I thought that through and I knew that coming to Manchester United was for me a special occasion where I felt I wanted to be part of this journey with the club in also an assistant role. I had clear ambitions to manage, I made the decision to sign a two-year deal as an assistant and I’m still in that frame of mind to be fair, to stay in that capacity.”

Last travelling to Portman Road in Premier League action back in 2002, the above-mentioned, van Nistlerooy converted a penalty on the stroke of half time to land Man United all three points, with their previous league pairing seeing United run out 4-0 winners through a brace from Ole Gunnar Solksjaear, as well as Ronny Johnsen, and Andy Cole.

Taking on Ipswich Town back in 2015 in cup action at home, Man United would score three goals with no reply, through the trio of Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial, and Brazilian midfielder, Andreas Pereira – in what comes as the most recent meeting between the Red Devils and the Tractor Boys.
