Man United linked with big money move for Jean-Philippe Mateta as odds slashed on summer transfer

Amid their massive struggles in front of goal this season, Man United are reportedly exploring a move for a slew of potential forwards this summer – including Crystal Palace striker, Jean-Philppe Mateta, amid his free scoring run this season.

Bolstering just the likes of Rasmus Hojlund, Joshua Zirkzee, and recently Chido Obi-Martin as their attacking options this season, Man United have struggled massively as an attacking outlet this season – which has seen them drift as low as fourteenth in the Premier League table.

And ahead of a busy summer transfer window, sports betting apps that don’t require id are offering odds on a host of moves for United, including the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Victor Osimhem, and the above-mentioned, Mateta.

Finally hitting the ground in front of goal following a pair of barren seasons in English football, French striker, Mateta score 19 goals in all competitions last season.

And so far this campaign, the former Lyon and Mainz striker has netted on 12 separate occasions, including against Man United at Old Trafford in recent weeks.

Amid links to a summer move to the league giants, Italian reporter, Fabrizio Romano has warned fans a host of names – including Mateta, and Osimhen will be continually linked with a move to Old Trafford later this summer.

However, furthermore, it seems any incomings at Man United this summer will depend on the warchest afforded to Portuguese head coach, Ruben Amorim from the INEOS-backed ownership at the side.

“The reality is that Man United have not made any decision on the striker yet, and the budget will make the difference, so it’s still early to know who they’re gonna sign. Nothing advanced at this stage.”

In the midst of a brutal run of form in front of goal, Danish striker, Hojlund has been replaced in the side by the likes of both Zirkzee and under 21s goalscoring ace, Obi in recent weeks.

And yet to net for the first team following his move from Arsenal last summer, 17-year-old prospect, Obi has been tipped for a bright future on the world stage.

Most recently netting through an attacking outlet last week, Dutch forward-come-striker, Zirkzee managed to sidefoot past Real Sociedad in their first leg UEFA Europa League tie last week; however, that finish came as just his sixth goal in 41 appearances in his debut season. 

This evening to boot, reports have claimed Chelsea are considering exploiting a ‘loophole’ which would see them return loanee, Jadon Sancho to Old Trafford, following a more than disappointing spell since his move to London. 

Facing a financial penalty if they renege on a previously agreement, mandatory buy-option, Sancho’s return to Old Trafford would likely see him prioritized as one of the first players out of the Manchester exit in the summer transfer window. Stunningly, since the turn of the year, Sancho has yet to land a shot or cross on target to boot.
