Mauricio Pochettino emerges as huge betting favorite to take Man United seat after shock Chelsea exit

Argentine head coach, Mauricio Pochettino has emerged as the current betting favorite to become the next permanent manager at Manchester United, amid building pressure on current head coach, Erik ten Hag – as well as his surprising exit from Premier League rivals, Chelsea.

Pochettino, a former coach notably at Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur, and Paris Saint Germain, guided London giants, Chelsea to an admittedly sixth place finish in a difficult domestic season, earning the side UEFA Europa League football next season.

And reports yesterday confirmed how the former Argentine midfielder had come to a mutual agreement with the Chelsea board to depart Stamford Bridge after just one season in the dugout, to much surprise and shock.

Off the back of Mauricio Pochettino’s departure overnight, the heralded tactician has emerged as an impressive 11/8 betting favorite to become the next permanent Manchester United manager, knocking Bayern Munich coach, Thomas Tuchel from a perch – who himself is set to leave the Bundesliga side this summer.

Some of the best and most notable casinos and bookies alike are offering football fans and viewers the best odds on moves in both the manager circle and player circle this summer, on the best $1 deposit offers – in what promises to be a huge summer period with the UEFA European Championships landing in Germany before domestic football kicks off again in August.

Himself facing a more than uncertain future following the end of his second season in charge of Old Trafford side, United – Dutch head coach, ten Hag’s future is under huge scrutiny ahead of this weekend’s FA Cup final against cross-town rivals, Manchester City – who are fresh from their record-setting fourth consecutive Premier League title victory.

Another emerging force in a bid to become the next permanent Manchester United boss comes in the form of former Brighton & Hove Albion boss, Roberto De Zerbi – who watched on as goals from Diogo Dalot and Ramus Højlund downed his side on the final day of the Premier League last weekend.

And departing the seaside club amid links to a potential return to his antive Itlay with giant Serie A side, AC Milan, De Zerbi is drawing odds currently as low as 6/1 to take the reigns at United ahead of next summer.

An interesting note in the potential appointment of Mauricio Pochettino at United, comes off the back of reports which confirmed how INEOS – the minority stake owners of the Manchester club, had propositioned the Argentine coach to manage Ligue 1 side, Nice, who are also under the ownership of British billionaire, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, ultimately to no avail.

Heavily linked with the United dugout prior to the arrival of former Ajax head coach, ten Hag, Pochettino, a Newell’s Old Boys and Espanyol favorite would reportedly “entertain” talks with the club to determine a potential move.

Guiding Chelsea to a stunning win against United back in April at Stamford Bridge in their Premier League return, Mauricio Pochettino watched on as club top scorer, Cole Palmer netted twice uber-late into added time to land a shocking 4-3 come-from-behind victory against ten Hag’s side.
