Tottenham vs Manchester City Preview

Tottenham vs Manchester City Preview

Following on from another truly chaotic first half of the Premier League campaign, there’s all to play for as we enter the final few months before the run-in well and truly begins.

At this point, it’s slightly easier to see what a lot of the clubs are really shooting for in terms of their overall ambitions for the season ahead. For Tottenham and Manchester City, though, regardless of what their fans may be dreaming of, there’s simply no way of denying that this has been an astonishingly poor year for both of them.

Man City Players

Off the back of several defeats early on and a horrendous stretch of games without a win, Manchester City are on the outside of the title picture looking in. That’s a strange thing to say, given just how dominant they’ve been in the past, with Pep Guardiola often managing to find a way to drag them out of any dire situation they find themselves in.

Unfortunately, off the back of losing Rodri, they haven’t been able to recover, with a lot of teams using a high press to really get in their faces from the first minute until the very last. It may seem premature, but the popular opinion is that people are really starting to figure them out.

Over in North London, however, Tottenham Hotspur are taking disappointment to a whole new level. Under the tutelage of Ange Postecoglou, they are enduring arguably their worst-ever Premier League season. From pillar to post, they’ve been pretty awful, despite what some of their more positive scorelines will try and indicate.

From injury problems to a ‘just go forward’ approach that leaves them vulnerable at the back, it’s actually not hard at all to see why they’ve fallen apart. Still, they’ll believe they can go after a place in the top half at the very least, which says a lot about the club’s current state of mind.

So, whether you’re into independent casino sites or a good old-fashioned bookmaker, we’re here to dig deep into what exactly we think will happen when these two teams meet next week.

Tottenham vs Manchester City – Betting Preview

Straight out of the gate, we’re going to say that there will be goals galore in this game. Sure, the injury issues of Spurs could lead people to believe that they’re going to absolutely crumble, but they proved against Manchester United that they are more than capable of putting forward a solid, professional performance over the course of 90 minutes.

City, though, just got knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid. It’s the kind of defeat that is bound to leave you asking questions about your future, and in our view, the best way to defend themselves from this recent slip is through attack.

We’re not at all convinced that either team has the confidence necessary to get over the finish line and secure all three points. Therefore, we’re going to push the narrative that they will share the spoils, in a result that won’t do either any real good in the long run.

Official prediction: Tottenham 2-2 Manchester City
