Mbappe

World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe has two obvious goals at Real Madrid

Kylian Mbappe has, before hitting his supposed peak, already reached the pinnacle of his chosen profession.

In football circles, once the World Cup has been won then any other trophy after that would appear to be a step down.

Mbappe has a global crown to his name, while coming agonizingly close to claiming a second, and could probably retire tomorrow content with all that he has achieved.

Even the very best in the business have targets, though, and it’s important to always be chasing some sort of dream.

Keeping his eye on the ball

Mbappe moved to Real Madrid in a bid to complete his already glittering medal collection. The Blancos are 15-time European Cup winners and +650 shots in bet on Champions League odds to conquer the continent again in 2024-25.

Their latest ‘Galactico’ has more reason than most for wanting to earn favor in Champions League tips, as he has never previously got his hands on that prize.

Every great of the modern era – from Lionel Messi to Cristiano Ronaldo via Zinedine Zidane and Thierry Henry – has won the Champions League, allowing them to separate from those in the ‘good’ category.

In order to enhance and cement his legacy, Mbappe knows that he needs to emulate those achievements.

He could not be in a better place to tick that trophy-winning box, with Real Madrid the most decorated side in European football.

Any success on the grandest of club stages, alongside his continued efforts with France, will also allow Mbappe to pursue another notable goal.

Having been billed as a superstar-in-the-making for some time, the general consensus has always been that he will savor Ballon d’Or glory at some stage.

He is yet to lift the most prestigious of individual awards, but time is still on his side. Again, Real’s history in the Golden Ball department suggests that he has made the right career call.

He can even call upon the support of five-time winner Ronaldo in that department, with the iconic Portuguese and Madrid legend having said of seeing Mbappe in the Spanish capital: “They have a great coach and the president who has been there for many many years. I think it won’t be a big problem because of his talent. He has shown what he is capable of doing. In my opinion, he can be the next Golden Ball winner.”

That is some billing, but one that Mbappe intends to live up to.

 Finding his stride in Madrid

A slow start at Santiago Bernabeu was perhaps to be expected, as a homeland comfort zone in Paris was stepped out of.

Mbappe is, however, moving through the gears in Madrid, and that should concern any opponent given how fast the Frenchman can move.

Once fully into his stride, he will take some stopping and begin to believe that he can chase down collective and personal accolades with a famous white jersey on his back.

He may have already achieved plenty, hitting the summit of world football in the process, but there are still at least two very obvious goals for the prolific frontman to try and hit.
