Top four favourites to win Ligue 1

Top four favourites to win Ligue 1

Ligue 1 has been Paris Saint-Germain’s easiest trophy over the years, but the competitions are getting better and better. Lille continue to take on the status quo, whilst Monaco are still pushing for top spot.

Could a resurgent Lyon hit back and win it all? Or could new-boys and outsiders Paris FC make a shock ascent to the top?

Paris Saint-Germain – 1/10

Paris Saint-Germain

The always champions, PSG are the obvious favourite for the title once again.

The back-to-back Champions League winners are still full of world-class players. From Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue at the top of the pitch, to Vitinha in the middles and William Pacho and Nuno Mendes at the back, this team is absolutely loaded.

It’s no surprise that most expect Luis Enrique’s side to do it once again. This time however, it won’t be as easy with the following pack improving all the time.

Monaco – 16/1

Monaco

Perennial chasers, Monaco, are next in line to the throne.

Filipe Luis’s side have chased the Parisians for some time, but they are now ready to go one more and finally beat their opposition to the top spot.

Under the Brazilian, who has done nothing but win trophies, they expect to follow his lead. With Paris Brunner, Ansu Fati, Denis Zakaria and Aleksandr Golovin, this team has the quality to do it all, but it needs to hold its nerve and rise to the top.

This side is the nearest challenger to PSG’s favourite trophy.

Lille – 20/1

Lille

Lille are waiting in the wings for their shot at the title.

Looking to regain the trophy for the first time in 14 years, the Davide Ancelotti side are on the hunt and currently just two points behind the perennial title winners.

Another side full of quality, Lille have a number of players that can drag them into contention. From Ethan Mbappe up top, to Nabil Bentaleb in midfield and Nathan Ngoy at the back, this team has the players to take on any side and that’s just what they want to do.

It’s always a long shot, but if any team believes, it is Lille.

Lyon – 25/1

Lyon

The biggest outside shot at the title that’s in the top four favourites, is Lyon.

Paulo Fonseca’s side have enjoyed a resurgence over the last two years and are ready for a shot at the title this time around.

A team made up of those young and old, all ready to make their mark for the first or last time on Ligue 1. They might be an outside shot, but they are not a team to underestimate, and no one should.

The likes of Tyler Morton, Ernest Nuamah and Julien Duranville can hurt any team, and the league should be on alert.
