Alexander Isak linked with huge Man United transfer move by Old Trafford icon

Swedish striker, Alexander Isak has been identified as a potential summer transfer target for Man United – by former full back and club legend, Gary Neville this week.

Isak, who has enjoyed a stellar goals-to-game ratio since his move to Newcastle United back in 2022, following spells with both Borussia Dortmund, and Real Sociedad.

And continuing his fine goalscoring form in the Carabao Cup final earlier this month, Alexander Isak found the scoresheet for Newcastle en route to their famous 2-1 win over Liverpool – scoring the decisive goal early in the second half.

However, given his free-scoring exploits, Alexander Isak has been linked with a big-money move this summer. And fans can find the best odds on the Swede’s future, as well as MLS lines on Sportzino in what promises to be another customary busy summer transfer window.

Naturally, this season, the former Dortmund striker has been linked with a massive move to the above-mentioned, Liverpool in the summer, with Arne Slot’s side looking to bring in a proven goalscorer amid fan impatience with Uruguay striker, Darwin Nunez.

However, as well as serial Premier League winner, Neville is concerned, amongst the likes of Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich – United should be considered credible candidates to chase the signature of Alexander Isak this summer.

“They (Newcastle United)  will lose those players unfortunately,” Neville told It’s Called Soccer during a recent appearance. “The reality is Newcastle are a great football club and we didn’t see that any more as we did on Sunday [at the Carabao Cup final].

“But they [players] will want to play for the Real Madrids, Liverpools, Manchester Uniteds and Bayern Munichs of this world, it’s just natural that these players will want to play at those clubs at some point, if they can.”

But it’s not just a pursuit of Alexander Isak who United have been heavily linked with in recent weeks. Once more, this month, the Old Trafford side drew links to a move for Ligue 1 goalscorer, Jonathan David, with the Canadian forward non-committal on his immediate future with Lille.

Finding the net time and time again for the French side since his move from neighboring, Belgian team, Gent, David admitted his head could be turned to Premier League football this summer.

Obviously, with this summer going on, I’m not sure if I am staying or going,” Jonathan David told CBS Sports during a recent interview. “But if I do end up going, I have to push myself at the very highest level, and after that, when you play for a big club, your position is never guaranteed. You need to fight.

“I’m never guaranteed, wherever I go, to start. In every game, I have to perform and I’m willing to fight. Obviously, I know it is a big year and a big decision. I’ll make a wise decision.”

Furthermore, amid a failing output from both Rasmus Hojlund, and Joshua Zirkzee, United has again been mentioned in the circles surrounding a potential move for Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen.

Still under contract with Napoli, Osimhen has turned in an impressive loan spell with Galatasaray, amid a failed January move to Premier League rivals, Chelsea after failing to strike terms with the Stamford Bridge side.
