Manchester United vs Wolves Betting Preview
It’s almost time for the end of the Premier League season and up to this point, it’s been a pretty weird one to say the least. The title has already been pretty much decided and the same goes for the relegation spots, meaning that a lot of teams are simply playing for pride – and to finish as high up in the table as they possibly can.
It’s about building confidence for the summer and when you’re talking about teams that need a confidence boost, Manchester United are certainly in that conversation. Ruben Amorim always knew that this was going to be a tricky campaign and given how it’s all played out, we’d say that he now has a much better understanding of just how big the task is that lies in front of him.
As for Wolverhampton Wanderers, things have completely changed for the boys from the Black Country since the introduction of Ruben Amorim as manager. He has dragged this team kicking and screaming out of the relegation scrap and while they aren’t quite mathematically safe just yet, they may as well be.
This fixture is one that has a lot of historical significance within the context of English football and while that may be a more accurate statement for older fans as opposed to younger, we still think both clubs are going to be pretty eager to secure all three points. At the very least, this is going to serve as another example of a team coming to Old Trafford without any fear.
So whether you’re putting down a bet with Betting AZ or you’re just interested in how the game is likely to play out, we’re here to run down what we can expect to see from this fixture.
For the Red Devils, games like this are all about proving that they can still hold firm at home. Alas, now that teams know how vulnerable they are, particularly at the back, there’s a good chance they’re going to concede – especially against the team that is currently top of the form table.
The goalkeeping situation is the big worry for United because no matter who they put between the sticks, we’re constantly seeing problems arise. They are struggling in pretty much every defensive department and if they can’t plug the gap, most games they’re involved in could get embarrassing for them.
Wolves are the ones who could dictate the pace here from beginning to end and with the momentum they’re currently riding, that wouldn’t be a surprise whatsoever. Alas, we do think a few of United’s starting XI – and fringe players – will feel like they have a point to prove, especially ahead of a summer window where a lot of them are going to be getting looked at quite closely.
We do think both teams will come away from the game with something in a 1-1 draw, but in truth, this isn’t a prediction we’re overly confident about. If Wolves ease to a win we wouldn’t be shocked and in truth, the most surprising result would be United getting over the finish line.
Official prediction: Manchester United 1-1 Wolves
