Everton vs Manchester City Betting Preview

We’re rapidly approaching the end of the Premier League campaign and usually, that means there’s a great deal to play for at both ends of the table. However, at this point, the European places are the only real thing at stake, given that the title and the relegation spots are pretty much guaranteed to go to Liverpool, Ipswich, Leicester and Southampton (the latter of which has already been confirmed).

Still, it’s always interesting to see how teams perform in the final stretch, especially when it comes to the likes of Everton and Manchester City. While they may not be the most notable clubs from their respective cities, they’re still pretty big names within the landscape of English football.

For Everton, this season is all about bidding farewell to Goodison Park as they prepare to move to their new home. They’ll be making that shift with a familiar face at the helm, too, with David Moyes now back in charge of the Toffees. He’s done pretty well to steady the ship so far, steering them clear of the relegation zone and ensuring that they’ll have yet another season of top flight football to look forward to.

Everton

As for Pep Guardiola and Manchester City, things are looking as desperate as they have done in a good few years at the club. They’re still in with a chance of winning the FA Cup, but the big priority for them is going to be making sure they are back in the Champions League by the time we reach August.

For a team of their stature, that isn’t usually a big ask – but they’ve fallen way short of expectations in recent months and that much is an understatement. Now, all they can really do is push as hard as they possibly can to land themselves in that top five.

So whether you’re planning on placing a wager with Bettor In Green or you’re just interested in the game, we’re here to try and make sense of it all.

Everton are going to try and feed off the energy of the crowd here and against a City team that isn’t particularly full of confidence, that’s a smart move. They have the ability to hurt the visitors on the counter and via set pieces, and we do think that kind of strategy is going to lead them down the path of a goal (at the bare minimum) in this game.

City, meanwhile, still have impact players, even if quite a few of them are missing. KDB is going to be critical to the success of this team between now and the end of the campaign and we do think he’ll shine again here, probably because he’s being given the freedom to do so – and because he knows his long tenure at the Etihad is coming to a close.

Manchester City

We actually think this one is going to end up all even with both teams taking a point away from Merseyside. Given the circumstances, we’d say both will be fairly happy with that.

Official prediction: Everton 1-1 Manchester City
