Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa Betting Preview

It’s time for the semi-finals of this season’s FA Cup as the four remaining clubs all attempt to write their name in the history books. This is the oldest club football competition in the world and while some may not feel like it has the same spark that it once did, this campaign has proven that there’s still some magic left in the cup after all. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what promises to be an intriguing encounter between Crystal Palace and Aston Villa.

For both of these clubs, reaching Wembley is a testament to what they’ve been able to achieve this season. While they’ve both had highs and lows, being able to have that big day out at the home of English football shows that they’ve done something right since things kicked off in August. Now, however, only one of them will be able to call themselves FA Cup finalists.

Crystal Palace

For Crystal Palace, this is another league campaign in which mid-table mediocrity is on the menu. On their best day, they are capable of beating just about anyone in the league – but inconsistency is at the heart of their problems and has been for a long time. Oliver Glasner brings an interesting new dynamic to proceedings and nobody can deny that, but is it enough to get them over that final hurdle?

As for Aston Villa, they are riding higher than they have done in a long time. After their fourth place finish in the Premier League last season, they’ve followed it up with a run to the quarter-finals of the Champions League and semi-finals of the FA Cup. Regardless of what happens from here, Unai Emery can be incredibly proud of the job that he’s done with this football club.

Aston Villa

Of course, as we’ve said, only one of these teams will be able to make it back to Wembley for the final – and it’s tough to say who has the upper hand. Alas, whether you’re just interested in free spins, no deposit casinos, or you just want to learn more about this game, we’re here to give our thoughts on how it’ll all play out.

Palace have a lot of attacking threats at their disposal and while we do think Villa are the better all-round team, the boys from the capital will likely start quickly here. They’ll try and press the Midlanders back from the word go, and we actually think they’re going to have a lot of success in that department.

With that being said, Aston Villa are one of the best teams in the country for a reason. They are well-drilled, they know how to turn it on in big games, and they are definitely good enough to overwhelm Palace through the middle of the park. If they can do that, and then slowly force their way through as we head deep into the second half, they should be able to edge their noses in front.

They aren’t going to blow Glasner’s men away, but we still think they’ll be the ones who leave with a victory.

Official prediction: Crystal Palace 1-2 Aston Villa
