Manchester City vs Wolves Betting Preview
We’re slowly but surely starting to come to the end of this Premier League campaign – and what a strange one it’s been. The title race has been decided, the relegation battle has been decided, and we’ve still got a handful of games left to go. The only thing of importance that’s left to be determined is the European places, and the game we’ll be taking a look at today could play an important role in that.
Manchester City, to put it lightly, have had a season that has been painfully disappointing for their fanbase. They often expect at least a few trophies every single year, as has been the case for a while now, but they just haven’t been able to live up to their own incredibly high standards. They’re faltered in the Premier League, they’ve lost out in the League Cup and Champions League, and they’ve only got the FA Cup left as a way to try and get some silverware on the board.
That would still be a nice accomplishment for them, but they’ve got a long way to go in order to obtain that goal. Plus, they also have the added stress of trying to make sure they qualify for the Champions League. In any other campaign, that would almost be a given – but they’re really being made to work for it by a handful of teams around them.
Then, you’ve got Wolverhampton Wanderers. For the first half of the season, with Gary O’Neil at the helm, it seemed as if they were finally heading back down to the Championship after a solid stint in the top flight. Then, when Vitor Pereira replaced him as manager, everything changed – and we mean everything.
Wolves became an absolute force of nature and right now, they’re riding an incredible wave of momentum that they’ll hope leads to even greater investment in the summer. That’s an area where the owners have let the fans down substantially in the past, but you’d have to imagine the last few months have convinced them that Pereira could do something special at Molineux if given the resources.
So whether you’re here for a melbet download or you just want to know more about the game, it’s time for us to run down what we believe is going to happen at the Etihad.
City’s ability to dictate the pace of games and control the ball in the middle of the park depends entirely on the urgency of their opposition. Wolves are feeling confident and we believe they are going to really ramp up the pressure here, forcing City to come out and play in a similar manner to how they did against Crystal Palace recently.
It’s hard to know which team is going to take the lead in this one but we’re going to say it’ll be Wolves, with City being able to get their equaliser not long after. In a technical chess match, they’ll end up sharing the spoils, which won’t be the worst result in the world, given where both teams are at in their development.
Official prediction: Manchester City 1-1 Wolves
