This summer’s Euro 2024 Championships brings together the continent’s finest goalscorers, all looking to provide the goals that could lead their country to international immortality.
During the competition’s qualifying stages, fans were given a taste of the talent soon to be on show in Germany and hoping their own nation’s frontmen can produce on one of the biggest stages in world soccer.
But who are the players who could win the Euro 2024 Golden Boot?
7. Joselu
Spanish striker Joselu scored four goals in qualifying, netting braces against both Norway and Cyprus as Spain topped group A. This season, the Real Madrid forward has registered 16 times in 44 games for Los Blancos on their way to another La Liga title. Spain will be aiming for at least the quarter finals yet have a potentially difficult group where they face Croatia, Italy and Albania.
6. Rasmus Hojlund
Denmark finished top of group H thanks largely to Rasmus Hojlund’s seven goals in qualifying. The Dane struck a hat-trick against Finland, twice versus Kazakhstan along with goals at Slovenia and San Marino. This campaign has seen Hojlund score 15 goals in 41 matches for Manchester United in a difficult debut season at Old Trafford. Denmark should be targeting a quarter final spot but face tricky opponents in Slovenia, Serbia and England.

5. Niclas Fullkrug
The emergence of clinical centre-forward Niclas Fullkrug will excite supporters of tournament hosts Germany. Since his debut he has scored 11 goals in 15 international appearances. Fullkrug’s season with Borussia Dortmund has been largely successful, netting 15 times as part of the club’s superb run to the Champions League final. Germany will fancy their chances of reaching the final stages of Euro 2024 on home soil, if they can navigate their way past a group containing Scotland, Hungary and Switzerland.
4. Cristiano Ronaldo
Portugal finished top of group J with a 100% win record. Cristiano Ronaldo was the second highest scorer in qualifying, registering ten goals including hat-tricks versus Liechtenstein and Luxembourg with strikes against Slovakia, Bosnia and Iceland too. In the Saudi Pro League this season he has hit an incredible 42 goals in 41 games. The Portuguese should aim for at least a quarter final appearance with a winnable group containing Czech Republic, Georgia and Turkey.
3. Harry Kane
Harry Kane scored eight times in qualifying as England finished Winners of Group C. He found the net against Italy on three occasions, twice versus North Macedonia and Malta along with a strike in Ukraine. This season has held mixed fortunes for the Englishman, who despite an immense 44 goals in 45 games for Bayern Munich, missed out on winning any of the major honours he’d hoped for. England are tournament favourites, needing to overcome Slovenia, Denmark and Serbia in the group stage to progress.
2. Romelu Lukaku
Group F winners Belgium should thank Captain Romelu Lukaku for his 14 goals in qualification, the highest total of any player across the qualifying rounds. He scored six goals versus Estonia, four times against Azerbaijan, braces vs Austria and Sweden with one strike in Austria. Lukaku has been in good form this season, netting 20 goals in 46 for Serie A’s Roma. The Belgians should target a quarter final tie, if they can perform well in a group containing Slovakia, Romania and Ukraine.
1. Kylian Mbappe
France topped group B with Kylian Mbappe scoring nine goals along the way for his country in qualifying. He registered four against both Netherlands and Gibraltar with a single goal versus Greece. The Frenchman has been scintillating this campaign, hitting 44 goals in 47 matches for PSG. France are looking to win the tournament after coming so close at the 2022 World Cup, having to carefully navigate their way past Poland, the Netherlands and Austria first.
