Euro 2024 has undoubtedly shone a light on some of the most promising stars in World Soccer. As the 2024/25 season approaches, many of the planet’s greatest players return home to their clubs with incredible experiences and fresh focus for success.
For a select few however, on the back of eye-catching performances, they may move to pastures new and sign lucrative deals for Europe’s biggest clubs.
But who are 7 Soccer players likely to shine after Euro 2024?
7. Ianis Hagi
Last season Ianis Hagi featured for La Liga side Alavés on loan from Rangers. He played a total of 26 games for the Scottish Premier League club and even scored twice. Hagi appeared as an attacking midfielder during all four of Romania’s matches at Euro 2024.
Although his performances showed signs of promise, the youngster ultimately failed to register a single goal before his country’s eventual exit in the last-16 versus The Netherlands. Hagi could continue in Spain, return to parent club Rangers for the upcoming soccer season, although links with a move to Barcelona surfaced in late June. 6. Chico Conceicao
Chico Conceicao played for Porto last campaign whilst on loan from Dutch team Ajax. He made 48 appearances for the Primeira Liga side in total with 16 goal involvements and eight goals. During Euro 2024, Conceicao featured predominantly on the right side of Portugal’s attack.
He was electric for large portions of the competition and even scored during his country’s 2-1 win over Czechia. Conceicao will be looking to continue where he left off with Porto having re-signed on a permanent basis and a five-year deal worth €10 million.
5. Antonia Silva
Last campaign Antonia Silva starred for Primeira Liga club Benfica. He was sensational, appearing in 50 games and scoring two goals, also winning the Cosme Damião Soccer Player of the Year for 2024. Silva played a bit-part role in Portugal’s group and knockout games at Euro 2024.
The centre-back looked confident and commanding at such a young age. Silva will likely remain with Benfica for the upcoming campaign and yet rumours of a switch to Newcastle United, Manchester United or Chelsea have been circling.
4. Nico Williams
Nico Williams played for Athletic Bilbao last campaign, playing 37 games and scoring eight times. He won La Liga Play of the Month twice as the club secured the Copa del Rey. During Euro 2024, Williams was dynamic when speeding down the left wing.
He scored a memorable goal versus Georgia, darting into the box before smashing the ball into the roof of the net. It is unclear whether Williams will stay in Spain and despite having negotiated a new contract until 2027, amidst interest from Barcelona along with Chelsea, Arsenal and Bayern Munich.
3. Joao Neves
Last campaign youngster Joao Neves proved invaluable for Benfica. He was superb in Portugal, appearing across 55 games and scoring three goals whilst also being named in the Primeira Liga Team of the Year. Neves featured in a minor role across both group and knockout stage matches at Euro 2024.
From the brief glimpses of the midfielder during this summer’s tournament, he looked both a composed and exciting prospect. Neves seems likely to stay at Benfica for the season ahead but reports of a potential move to Liverpool and PSG have been intensifying.
2. Arda Guler
Arda Guler played for Real Madrid last season following his move from Fenerbahce in the summer of 2023. He made just 12 appearances for the La Liga side in total, scoring six goals across all competitions as Real Madrid won both La Liga and the 2024 Champions League. During Euro 2024, Guler was a revelation on Turkey’s right side and a true future star.
He was effective in his threat on goal and potent assisting, one highlight included scoring a wonder goal from 25 yards versus Georgia in Turkey’s opening match. Guler is near guaranteed to remain at Real Madrid next season and will be keen to challenge the likes of Federico Valverde for a regular starting spot on Los Blancos’ right flank.
1. Lamine Yamal
Last season Lamine Yamal experienced his breakthrough campaign for La Liga side Barcelona, in his first full season making 50 appearances and scoring seven goals in the process. Yamal proved an incredible asset for Spain at Euro 2024 and at the age of just 16 he became near irreplaceable on their right wing.
He is exciting, energetic whilst displaying exceptional delivery from wide areas, coupled with pinpoint crossing and relentless attacking flair. Yamal will no doubt remain at the Nou Camp this summer and ready for a breathtaking second season having signed a contract until 2026.
