As is often the case, Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion return to Europe and are immediately one of the favourites for the trophy.

Monaco are another team that fits the bill of believe they should be higher, and the quality in their squad would agree.

Filipe Luis is a perennial winner and will see this as the perfect time to win his first in southern France. A team full of pace and power is looking to get one over the line, not only to ease their financial woes, but to make Monaco a trophy winning side once more.

The French side are rarely there to make up the numbers, and this will be no different. A slow burn, but one that could grow on their way to the final.

Ajax – 10/1

Sleeping Dutch giant Ajax are well into a rebuild, sitting a lot lower than they expect to be.

With Julian Brandt and Steven Berghuis, Ajax remain a side with quality, but one on the mend. For those players it is about making a name for this Ajax side, and where better to do so than win a European trophy.

A team with less than others, but you can never rule out the Dutch giants.
